MAIN GOALS: Prevent further damaging of sacred lands, and Stop the DAPL. We must act to prevent this pipeline, to protect waterways from toxic oil spills that would pollute some of the most important rivers on the continent.
We are taking a caravan of vehicles and California activists to support this crucial front-lines effort to bring some sanity to the tragic and dangerous DAPL situation.
Shasta County Water Protectors
We are a collective of local friends from Madesi territory, in the Pit River Nation, in a remote rural part of Shasta County, California, USA (and supporters), who are planning a caravan road trip trip to North Dakota (November 2016) to support fellow water protectors in the ongoing crucial movement to protect sacred sites and water resources. Together, we will STOP the Dakota Access Pipeline (STOP DAPL) and fight to LEAVE FOSSIL FUELS IN THE GROUND. We start with PRAYER…
We are collecting DONATIONS, needed to support this journey and our fellow Water Protectors in the Standing Rock area, as we head into colder months and winter. Just before the USA Thanksgiving holiday, we will be delivering the contributions personally to Standing Rock activist camps with heaps of LOVE, and plenty of PRAYER.
The Shasta County Caravan to Standing Rock will leave Big Bend on Friday 18 November 2016. Until that departure, we will be needing local help to gather supplies and resources and to load firewood. We are also looking for a trailer to borrow (or ideally one we could donate to the Standing Rock camp and leave in North Dakota) that can haul some firewood. We also need money donations for diesel fuel and other travel expenses.

From Big Bend to Standing Rock
Several Big Benders have been feeling the call to travel to Standing Rock to support the movement to stop DAPL. Our combined enthusiasm and determination to make it happen has blossomed into an actual plan, which is still evolving and growing.
We are in the planning and collecting resources phase of a support and resupply journey to North Dakota to join fellow water-protectors. We plan to join forces with other activists to protect the water and sacred sites, and to deliver supply donations and share some food. We are planning to drive loaded with supplies. The drive is about 28 hours each way!
